Basic Information In the Story (Non-Spoiling)
Eiko is from of Madain Sari on the Outer Continent. As of the late, the young girl has been stealing food from the village of Conde Petite. After she does steal a bit more Zidane and the gang run into her on the road on the way to her home. There Zidane helps her out and decides they will take Eiko home. Around this time Eiko develops a rather large crush on Zidane.
She happens to be the last survivor from the Lost Summoning Village of Madain Sari and even has a summoning horn attached to her forehead which proves her heritage. Though at times she can be very annoying and demanding, deep down she is very lonely and only wishes to be accepted by the people around her as since her grandfather died, she had been alone in the village, minus the moogles which also take up residence in the place.
Spoiling Information
This information is rather spoiling so it would be best if you did not read on in this section until you have completed the game.
It has been told that Garnet was also from Madain Sari, so somehow the two could possibly be related, but this isn't a proven fact and has merely just been brought up in the game once by Dr. Tot. Sometime in Disc 3 Kuja kidnaps Eiko and attempts to extract the Eidolons from her much like had been done to Princess Garnet earlier in the game, however, the plan doesn't go well as Zidane and the gang rush in to save her at the last moment. But at that time her most trusted moogle and best friend, Mog, goes into a sort of Trance and evolves into a powerful holy-elemental Eidolon, Madeen.
At the end of the game Eiko is adopted by Cid and Hilda.
