A dragon knight from one of the three great nations, Brumecia. Freya left the country several years ago when her lover Sir Iron-Tail Fratley never came back as promised and was reported dead and missing. Freya, not believing the words of others about his death, ventured out of her kingdom in search of the person she loves. She vowed to search every nook and cranny of the planet until she found him - or perhaps the truth about his so-called death.
In Final Fantasy IX, you will first encounter Freya in Lindblum right before the Festival of the Hunt in a small tavern in the Industrial District. Here Zidane and her chat. During the Festival of the Hunt, either her, Zidane, or Vivi can win depending on the actions taken within the festival. After it is over and one of them are awarded their prize for winning, A brumecian soldier interrups to tell of an attack on the nation of Brumecia. At this time Freya heads off with Zidane to stop whoever is causing the attacks.
Spoiling Information
This information is rather spoiling so it would be best if you did not read on in this section until you have completed the game.
Freya travels with Zidane and the others in search of Sir Iron-Tail Fratley at first. In Cleyra the gang does meet with his man, but it seems he has lost most of his past memories, which includes all the time he had spent together with Freya in the past. He then dissappears and Freya is left with much dispair, but presses on with the current issues of Queen Brahne attacking the nations and tries to stop the attacks and save Cleyra. However, this does no good as The Queen summons Odin and ultimatly destroys the city.
Freya doesn't take much of a role in the story for most of the rest of the game. At the end of it during the sequences it shows her reunited with Sir Iron-Tail Fratley. Though he doesn't have any memories of their encounters many years ago, the man has once again fallen in love with Freya and the two start anew.
