Basic Information In the Story (Non-Spoiling)
The beautiful princess who is heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Alexandria. Lately she has noticed that her mother's behavior has become rather odd and she has planned an escape so she can visit her Uncle, Cid, back in Lindblum to talk about these problems. When she hears of the theatre group, Tantalus, is going to come and perform in her kingdom, she plans to sneak aboard the theatre ship to head back with them. Little does she know that while she is planning the escape that Tantalus is also planning to kidnap her.
Later in the game Garnet takes the nickname "Dagger" which she is known by for the rest of the game. She does have white magic abilities as well as summoning, as does Eiko, but she is the main summoner while Eiko is the main white magic user.
She's very educated young woman with a noble upbringing, as one would expect from any Princess. Garnet has a strong-will and will finish a task and not stop working until it's done. She wishes nothing more than for peace in her kingdom. Though her mother does seem to have something up her sleeve, Garnet cannot help but still love her no matter what happens, which shows she is a very loyal and caring person.

This information is rather spoiling so it would be best if you did not read on in this section until you have completed the game.
Her real name is Sarah. Sarah was born in the summoning village of Madain Sari where she lived until she was six years of age. At that time, Garland sent an attack on the village and most of the villagers died. However, Sarah and her mother were able to escape the attacks on a small boat. Though the weather conditions were horrible, the boat did somehow make it to Alexandria. When Sarah was found, her mother was already dead. The King and Queen of Alexandria did decide to raise Sarah as their own daughter, but did rename her Garnet.
Like Eiko, Garnet also had a horn which indicated her heritage. The king, however, had it removed when she was still a little girl.
